Apparently they are getting more and more reports of the issue. No fix for now. Just a workaround. You have to import the pictures from the phone using iCloud, or something like the Windows photo app.

Once the pictures are on the local machine or cloud service off of the phone then you can work with them normally. No idea on how long it will take to patch.
